The Tools to Address Known Exploitation by Immobilizing Technological Deepfakes on Websites and Networks Act (TAKE IT DOWN Act), introduced by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), prohibits the nonconsensual online publication of intimate visual depictions, both authentic and computer-generated.

- Publication Ban: Prohibits publishing intimate visual depictions of adults without consent where it causes harm, and of minors where intended to abuse, harass, or gratify.
- Platform Takedowns: Covered platforms must remove reported depictions within 48 hours of notification.
